It was a long, hot day in the desert. It started out @ 70 degrees and ended up @ 94 degrees. We were originally scheduled to go to Blythe but knew ahead of time that we would bike to Brawley, due to road construction.
We biked along the Salton Sea, a 35 mile-long highly saline body of water-below sea level. We also biked along groves of beautiful date palm trees, and rode alongside a major railroad track with Union Pacific trains and hundreds of train cars passing constantly.
And we biked through MILES of desert. It was a mental ride today- hot, sunny and an endless, rough road!
Our friend, Carol, after a deliciously cold chocolate milk at the last mile of our ride!
